The German term 'Lichtblick' describes an exceptional experience. A former farm in the beautiful countryside of Lower Austria nearby Vienna, is one of those positive exceptions: The Lichtblickhof is a warm place for seriously ill children. On July 9, 2016, FAKRO Netherlands and ROAd4energy competed against mitochondrial disease by raising as much money as possible during the first edition of the cycling event ‘FAKRO’s Gruwelijkste’. And with success! About 300 enthusiastic cyclists entered the event to cycle in the absolutely beautiful surroundings of Groesbeek. With the efforts of all participants, volunteers and donors the event raised a fantastic amount of €13.465,- for charity.

The Tour de Pologne riders arrived in Nowy Sącz on 14 July 2016. Cyclists left Zawiercie to cover the distance of 240km before reaching the finish line. The winner of the 3rd stage of the 73rd Tour de Pologne UCI World Tour was Niccolo Bonifazio representing Trek-Segafredo team. Everyone in FAKRO kept fingers crossed for cyclists. The company prepared a lot of surprises for athletes and fans. 

An official awards ceremony Red Dot Design 2016 was held on 4 July in the Aalto Theater in Essen. It is one of the most prestigious awards in the world of design given every year to companies, which set new direction of development in the field of design. The international jury responsible for granting awards consists of outstanding individuals. FAKRO, which is famous for innovative, functional as well as characterized by impeccable aesthetics products has been given this prestigious award. A trophy which is known as 'Oscar of Design' was awarded to the DEF DU6 flat roof window.

Similarly to the previous year, FAKRO became a partner of the 73rd Tour de Pologne. The route of the cycling race will cover, among others, Nowy Sącz – the town where the second-largest manufacturer of roof windows in the world has its headquarters. FAKRO has long been involved not only in the promotion of the region, but also strongly supports a variety of sporting events.

FAKRO, whose products reach well beyond Europe, supported a travel project 'FAKRO on the Roof of America' carried out in June this year by Paweł Rochowicz – economic journalist of Rzeczpospolita, which is a Polish national daily newspaper.  

FAKRO the second largest manufacturer of roof windows and loft ladders in the world actively participated in the 35th Construma International Building Trade Exhibition held in Budapest between 6 and 10 April 2016. The company presented their innovative solutions on the stand covering the area of nearly 100m2.

2 November 2015 – this date is very important for the entire construction industry around the world. This is the day when the largest European construction show begins - Batimat 2015. This event organized every two years attracts over 3,000 exhibitors and about 400,000 visitors from all over the world.

On 6 September 2015 seven-person FAKRO team composed of: Małgorzata Sroka, Grzegorz Witowski, Wojciech Sowa, Marek Tokarczyk, Piotr Zegarliński, Michał Kunicki and Kamil Nowak took part in an international cycling event Albintra-FAKRO Classic.

Sixth edition of the competition for the architects “FAKRO – Space for new Visions” is completed. Once again organized by FAKRO, a global manufacturer of roof windows and loft ladders and by A10 Magazine for European Architecture, the contest began in February.

It was already for the fifth time that Muszyna hosted participants of IFD FAKRO Winter Olympics. Guests from 11 countries took part in the jubilee edition of this event. The 7th Polish Championships of the Construction Industry in Sailing started 6 September in Croatia. 24 crews, around 200 participiants went to regatta in Adriatic Sea.

The Birmingham NEC Building Trade Show is one of the greatest events of the construction industry in the UK associated with the construction, renovation and home conversion.

Batibouw show is the largest construction fair held annually in Belgium. During the show lasting eleven days visitors had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with new products related to construction and renovation. The event took place at the Belgian Square, in the heart of Brussels.

The first exhibitions of the latest products, technological innovations from the construction industry, conferences, discussions and contests were shared by exhibitors and visitors of 23rd Poznan International Construction and Architecture BUDMA Trade Show 2014 held in Poznan.
